Making a paste-up

I now take sheets of A3 paper, fold them in half and make myself an A4 dummy of the final book, in this case four sections each of two sheets. I take another galley proof and cut it up where the pages break. I paste up the entire text on the pages where it will fall. I print off some look-alike headings and page numbers in yellow from my PC and paste them in position too, and I mark where the three lino-cuts will fall. I end up with a rather ugly simulation of the final book, but the essential information it carries is the position of all the text. (What was that third galley proof for? I invariably make a mess of the first paste-up . . . )
