I think it was Claire Bolton of the Alembic Press who defined a private press as one where at least one of the operations required in making a book happened on the kitchen table. In our case, quite a few happen on the dining table. The Fine Bindery have converted the piles of materials in the previous picture into real books. The first tranche of bound copies of the standard edition have arrived in time for the launch of the book at Martyn Thomas's lecture on Harry Carter at St Bride Printing Library in London, on 26 April 2005. Each copy is signed and numbered and early orders can at last be satisfied. This isn't quite the end of the story as the de luxe copies have still to be done ... |
