After twenty-eight days of winding, the pile of pristine sheets has been turned into a pile of printed sheets. To that are added dust-jackets, spine labels, the sample of Emerald type printed on Oxford India paper, end-papers ... and (oh dear) the corrigendum slip. Sheets of original Curwen paper have been bought to provide the samples that are also tipped into each copy.

Everything is ready for taking up to The Fine Bindery - on schedule but leaving them just three weeks to bind the 170 copies in the standard edition before the launch at St Bride. I still have to print the sheets for the extra volume that goes in the de luxe copies before they can start work on those. These will be on a hand-made Van Gelder paper, rather than the Mohawk used for the main volume.
