The original manuscript pages are bound loosely in a case the front cover of which is covered in a marbled paper. It's most likely that this dates from Aubrey's time and was indeed his choice. English paper marbler Jemma Lewis has been commissioned to prepare a paper in the same style and general colour way for the edition. The spine is covered in a faux vellum.
