Leading the text

When delivered from the caster, the type is 'set solid', each line butted up against its neighbours above and below. In this case, the lines of 14pt Octavian needed to spaced out, and so 2pt leads (lead strips) were inserted between all the lines.

Nearest the camera is one page with the text already leaded. The other page, which I am leading, will be moved into the space you can see above it.
