Leading The type arrives unleaded and will need 3pt of leading throughout before printing. That means a lot of leads unless - as is my penny-pinching practice - I only lead as a page goes on the press and then remove leads when it comes off. Even so, part of my order to Stan Lane is for 200 leads to boost the ones I already have here. At 34em, the line length is the longest I have printed, so I don't have much of a stock of leads of that length. 32em and 33em yes, 34em no. These two leaded pages on galleys on my stone are the first page of a chapter from Palladio's I Quattro Libri in the original Italian and an English translation. |
