Correction fount As well getting him to cast the type for the text of the book, I ask Harry to cast me a correction fount. Between his casting of the type and its arrival I may well have decided on small (or not so small) changes to the text, or even found some errors that I need to correct in the type. To do that I need a supply of all the sorts in the typeface, and here I am laying the small correction fount in a spare typecase. Also, during printing - and during the handling of the type - some letters will be damaged and will need replacing. This is another reason for having this small fount available. And, no doubt, I shall rework the colophon at the last minute to reflect changes in the way the book has been produced! |
