| Oak Knoll Books host an annual book fair in the delightful town of Historic New Castle, not far from Philadelphia, and we generally make an annual pilgrimage there, to sell books, and to meet old friends. |

The picture shows our stand at a quiet moment.
Around 40 presses from around the world, and in
particular from North America, display a wide variety of hand-made books. One of
my favourites this year was from Greg Joly's Bull Thistle Press: I am the
Garden, a book printed on cinnamon paper that both smelled and looked
wonderful. Another was the Shanty Bay Press's Homeric Hymn to Aphrodite
with Walter Bachinski's stunning pochoir images. Seeing such fine books is
depressing and uplifting at the same time! |
